“I never knew about micro cap stocks! Can you believe it? These companies (if identified correctly) have WAY more upside than the blue chips. Thanks for opening my eyes and helping me diversify my portfolio with a healthy group of micro caps. I think they are outperforming my large cap positions 5 to 1. Impressive!”

Competitive
Analysis |
 |
With
the explosive proliferation of the Internet and subsequent information
transmission boon, the need for data storage has created an industry category
in itself. Companies of all sizes are dealing with enormous amounts of
digital content, unstructured data and reference information that is driving
an unprecedented increase in storage needs.
The vast amount
of data now being stored has also revealed flaws in the traditional methods
of storing it. Reliability, scalability, speed, and security expectations
have grown with the industry.
With the scope
of the need now fully realized, the solution to the key issues has revealed
itself. Corporations dealing with huge amounts of data being produced on
a daily basis have a desire to move to clustered architectures. Clustered
network storage has enabled companies to gain significant advantages in
scalability, performance, and cost, but reliability has remained elusive.
Clustered storage
systems that are able to achieve multi-hundred terabyte single file systems
may requires thousands of disks, and tens or even hundreds of nodes. Each
disk or node is a potential point of failure.
Isilon(r) IQ's
new approach is designed to ensure data integrity and availability in large
clustered storage environments without the risk or inherent problems of
the technology.
Isilon's
OneFS(r) (a patent-pending distributed file system) software provides the
intelligence behind the Isilon IQ family of clustered storage systems.
It combines the three layers of traditional storage architectures - file
system, volume manager and RAID - into one unified software layer, creating
a single intelligent symmetric file system that spans all nodes within
a cluster. OneFS provides a single point of management for large content
stores, faster access to large content files, inherent high availability,
and the ability to easily scale a single cluster's capacity - up to 10
Gigabytes per second of total throughput and hundreds of terabytes of capacity,
all from a single network file system.
With OneFS(r),
no single point of failure will disrupt the entire storage system. In fact,
the platform includes built-in tolerance for multi-failure scenarios. Pro-active
failure detection and pre-emptive drive rebuilds further bolster the safety
and security of stored data. Further, Isilon's architecture costs 40-60%
less than traditional storage solutions to own and operate.
